The results of the joint meeting of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan and representatives of the public, held in the Maslahat Köşgi in the capital city, became a major socio-political event in the modern history of our country. The appointment of Arkadag by the Decree of the head of state to the post of Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan – the highest representative body of people’s power with clearly defined powers, and the constitutional assignment of the socio-political status of the National Leader to him cannot but cause deep satisfaction among the Turkmen people. After all, it was 16 years ago that our people, having elected Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov as the President of the country, entrusted him not only with their fate, but also with the further development and construction of new Turkmenistan. And time has proved the correctness of this fateful choice.
The historical phenomenon of Arkadag lies in the fact that he managed to consolidate the creative potential of the nation and to mobilise society for a powerful breakthrough into the future, which has received the name “Turkmenistan’s path of development” in the world. This was fully facilitated by a purely pragmatic approach that involves concrete actions, the maintenance of the stability of the entire political system, strategic planning and the gradual development of key areas of the economy, which allowed our country to achieve impressive results in state building in 15 years.
