Medals at the Asian Championships

Bishkek (the Kyrgyz Republic) hosted the U-23 Asian Freestyle and Greco-Roman Wrestling Championships. The welcome news from the tournament demonstrated that the Turkmen school of freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling has a great future. Our compatriot Kakabay Kakabaev competed in the 65-kilogramme weight class event and won a bronze medal at the Asian Championships. Alp Arslan Begenjov, a member of the youth freestyle wrestling team of Turkmenistan, became the champion of Asia in the 65-kilogramme weigh class event (U-17). Our compatriot is a 9-grader at the Young Olympians School, who has already triumphed at large international and national competitions. The talented wrestler won the international tournament in Romania in May this year.

The path to victories

Saparly Muhyev, an athlete from the sports school 6 of the Ashgabat Main Department on Sports and Youth Policy, won one of the greatest victories in the history of the Turkmen sport at the 2022 Youth World Weightlifting Championships in León, Mexico. Saparly competed in the 96-kilogramme weight class event and won a silver medal of the Championships. The talented athlete took the second place in that weight class, having lifted 133 kilogrammes in snatch. 167 kilogrammes in clean and jerk brought the athlete a bronze medal. Saparly lifted 300 kilogrammes in total and won the silver medal to cherish the traditions of national weightlifting, well-known thanks to Altymyrat Orazdurdyev, Umurbek Bazarbaev, Rejepbay Rejepov, Hojamuhammet Toychyev, Yulduz Jumabaeva, Polina Guryeva and others.

Physical culture and sport are the source of a healthy life

Protection of the human health, which is considered the most valuable asset of our country, and education of the physically and mentally healthy and inspired younger generations are the priorities of the domestic policy in the revival of the new epoch of the powerful state. World Health Day has been widely celebrated as one of the most cherished holidays in the world for nearly 70 years. The World Health Organization was established on April 7, 1948, the World Health Day Resolution was adopted by the WHO on the same day in 1950.

Earning the cherished medals

The Turkmen national wrestling has gained world recognition along with the development of other sports in our country. Wrestling strengthens the human health. Isgender Ashyrov is a promising athlete who does the Turkmen national wrestling. He was born in 1999 in Sarahs, Ahal Velayat. Isgender started with sports in the childhood. After leaving the Ashgabat Young Olympians School in 2017, he entered Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management.

The winners of our future victories

To educate the younger generations in the spirit of patriotism, to provide excellent conditions for young people to be educated and creative, to do sports, to fully realize their abilities, and to develop their intellectual capacity are the priorities of the state youth policy. On June 14, our Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has held a meeting at the Congress Centre of Turkmenistan on the priorities of the state youth policy and the improvement of national legislation in this sphere. The meeting participants discussed the introduction of amendments and additions to the Law of Turkmenistan ‘On State Youth Policy’. Our Hero-Arkadag has launched a number of initiatives in this context. Speakers at the conference, including in the Turkmen students, expressed their sincere gratitude to our Hero-Arkadag for excellent opportunities created for them, affirmed their full support for the initiatives of the Turkmen leader and promised to justify the trust of the society, to be faithful to our Motherland and people, and to become skilful professionals.

Interesting facts about bicycles

There are a lot of interesting facts in the history of bicycles and related sports. Bicycles had different forms in different epochs before coming to the modern version. The bicycle was invented in 1817. At those times, a noble German Karl Freiherr von Drais created a vehicle nicknamed the dandy horse. 23 years later, in 1840, a Scottish blacksmith Kirkpatrick Macmillan invented a more advanced pedal driven version of the bicycle. In 1865, the first bicycle was introduced in France. Its two wheels were the same size and the seat was slightly ahead of the rear wheel.

International Day of Yoga has been celebrated

The celebrations of International Day of Yoga were held at the Bagtyyarlyk Sports Complex in the capital on June 21. The participants practiced yoga in the open air. The event was organized by the Embassy of India in our country. The Minister of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan and the Ambassador of India to Turkmenistan made their speeches at the celebrations. Along with congratulations on International Day of Yoga, the benefits of yoga for the human body and spirit were discussed. Later on, the yoga practitioners performed exercises to achieve harmony with the world under the beautiful sounds early in the morning.

The book ‘Ömrümiň manysy’, which is based on the outstanding talent and rich life experience of our Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, has great importance in educating the younger generations in the spirit of humanity, diligence, patriotism, in living a meaningful life, and in promoting good deeds. The value of the book in teaching young people the noble principles, such as good reputation, is immeasurable. Besides the moral principles of the Turkmen people, the book highlights the great achievements and development of independent, permanently neutral Turkmenistan, and important events in the career of the Turkmen leader. Historic work is underway to support and develop physical culture and sports. The legal framework for this system is being improved on a regular basis. This historic work yields positive results. Turkmenistan has formed the generations of passionate young people who are loyal to our Motherland, our people, and our national traditions, eager to be educated, to play sports, to master their skills, and to work. In our historic epoch, the young athletes from Turkmenistan take part in international sports events, win prizes and enhance the sports prestige of our Motherland. This fact demonstrates the great concern for the development of sports in our country. Our weightlifter Polina Guryeva successfully performed at the XXXII Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan, won a silver medal and became one of the outstanding athletes, who inspired our compatriots.

Successful performance of our compatriots

On June 11, the youth football team of Turkmenistan met the national team of Australia in the quarter-finals of the 2022 AFC U-23 Asian Cup. The Australian team won the match 1-0. The goal (OG) was scored by Oraz Orazov in the 74th minute of the match.

The Sicilian Defence, the opening of the game, is the favourite debut of many chess players. The Sicilian defence is an offensive strategy. It is performed by black pieces. The difference between this debut and the others is that the blacks are not only fighting for a draw, but for a victory. There are disadvantages to every strategy in chess. The downside is that white pieces are often the first to take advantage, so blacks have to counterattack without wasting time.

World Children's Day is widely celebrated in many parts of the world, including in Turkmenistan, on the first day of summer – June 1. According to the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan, World Children's Day is included in the list of official holidays to demonstrate that Turkmenistan fully supports the efforts of the world community in helping the younger generations. The concern for children is the safest investment in the future. Today's young generation is the people of the future, the people who will promote the development of country. The Sustainable Development Goals for 2030 include Goal 3 ‘To ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages’ and Goal 4 ‘To ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and to promote lifelong learning opportunities for all’. Asian Championships qualifiers

The youth team of Turkmenistan takes part in the qualifying round for the Asian Table Tennis Championships. The qualifiers for the 2022 Asian Junior Championships is being held in Almaty, the Republic of Kazakhstan on June 2–10. Begench Agaorazov, a member of the Table Tennis Federation of Turkmenistan and a coach at the Mary sports school 3, expects to have 12 players to represent the Turkmen delegation at the tournament. The schoolchildren from Ashgabat, including in Guychgeldi Allanazarov, Vepa Meredov, Ylyas Allanazarov, Bagul Begenjova, Medine Nurgeldiyeva, Aynur Berdiyeva, Enejan Charvaeva, and other tennis players will take part in the event. Alibek Jumanov, a schoolchild at the Young Olympians school, Davut Yakubov and Emir Garyagdyev, the students at Turkmen State Architecture and Construction Institute, will also represent our national team.

The distances covered on bicycles

To date, cycling is a popular sport in our country and all over the world. At the initiative of the Turkmen leader, the UN General Assembly has declared June 3 as the World Bicycle Day. The Cycling Federation of Turkmenistan, created thanks to the concern of our Hero-Arkadag, is working effectively in this area. The athletes of different ages do cycling in the sports schools across the country. Tournaments and Velayat events are held on a regular basis.
