WORLD RADIO DAY

The World Radio Day is celebrated every year on February 13 to mark the important role that radio plays in our lives and society. The day was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assemb ly in 2012, and its history can be traced back to the first International Radio Conference in Geneva in 1974. February 13 was chosen as World Radio Day as it is the day that the United Nations established the United Nations Radio in 1946. Logistics as a Crucial Economic Driver

Modern geopolitics attaches great importance to logistics. Turkmenistan is located at the crossroads of the main North–South and East–West trade routes and is a strategic intersection between Asia and Europe. Our country has a well-developed and attractive multi-vector transport network in Central Asia and is ready to connect its transit routes with the transport network of other countries to facilitate the integration of the East–West trade. The 21st century is that of logistics. This is its enduring importance in the economy. Our esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov identified the development of the logistics sector as one of the crucial aspects of the economic strategy in the present era. Main Vectors of Socioeconomic Development

In the modern history of the Turkmen people, large-scale, fundamental reforms are being implemented successfully in the country to improve the wellbeing of every citizen of Turkmenistan. Their main aspects designed for the near future are stated in the Programme “The Revival of the New Era of the Powerful State: The National Programme of the Socioeconomic Development of Turkmenistan for 2022–2052”. The Programme sets important tasks for the sectors of the national economy to ensure the rapid economic growth and the improvement of the Turkmen people’s welfare. This will allow achieving the multi-vector and sustainable development of Turkmen economy in 2022 resulting from the continuously growing main macroeconomic indicators in previous periods. In 2021, the volume of GDP increased by 6.2 per cent, production by 7.7 per cent and foreign trade turnover by 20.5 per cent compared to 2020. These impressive figures lay a solid foundation for further economic growth and testify to the well thought-out and thorough planning of the main aspects for the long-term development of Turkmen economy.

Innovative technologies: Global Trend

Our distinguished President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov identified digitalisation as a priority in solving systemic issues of the economy of Turkmenistan. Among the priority urgent tasks, the head of state identified the implementation of the Conception of the Development of the Digital Economy in Turkmenistan for 2019–2025 and the State Programme of the Development of the Digital Economy in Turkmenistan for 2021–2025. The goal of these programmes is to increase the efficiency of all sectors of the economy and the social sphere through the use of information technologies, the leader of the nation notes. Of course, today digitalisation is a key to solving the priority tasks of sustainable development. The digital market is one of the world’s fastest growing and most popular employment sectors, especially among young people. In accordance with the Conception and the State Programme, work is being carried out in Turkmenistan to create an infrastructure and conditions for a phased transition to the digital economy. The Government has already introduced the digital system and established video conference calls, making it possible to hold online meetings.

The ways of happiness of our Arkadag are radiant

Turkmenabat Autobahn. This Autobahn was given the Certificate for using innovational high technologies in construction of the high speed autobahn by the Department of Transport Communications and Structures of the city of Dornbirn of Austria. In our country rushing forward at the speed of a racer to new heights of achievements the engineering structures aimed at creating the «golden ring» of the transport–communication system, including the automobile highways and railroads, bridges, airports, connecting the states and peoples of the world are being regularly built and given for exploitation. On the 29th of October our Esteemed President took part in the opening and giving for exploitation ceremony of the Ashgabat-Tejen part of the Ashgabat-Turkmenabat Autobahn. As our National Leader notes the realization of this great project is an evident example of comprehensive development of our country.
