Turkmen weightlifters ranks fifth in World Youth Championships medal standings

World Health Day that marks the anniversary of the founding of the World Health Organisation in 1948 is celebrated every year on April 7. At the initiative of the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, this international date is included in the calendar of national holidays of Turkmenistan and is celebrated on a large scale. The festivities, abounding with physical activity, sports, cultural and recreational events and actions, take place throughout April. Gathering the international experience

The U12 teams of Turkmenistan have recently competed in the international tournament ‘Hopes of the Republic of Tatarstan’. Six athletes represented the national teams of Turkmenistan, which took part in the tournament at the Boxing and Table Tennis Complex. Elina Ahmedova and Jennet Amandurdyeva entered the women's national team, while Mukam Artykov, Dortguly Allanazarov, Nazar Abdyev and Atahan Pygamov represented the men's national team.

The Lebap Velayat Open Volleyball Championships was held for the athletes born in 2006–2007. 16 teams competed in the tournament organized at the sports school 10 in Turkmenabat.

The tournament was organised within the framework of the Joint Programme of the United Nations and the Government of Turkmenistan “Empowering and Engaging the Youth to Mitigate the Multi-Dimensional Threats of the Global Pandemic”. The representatives of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Turkmenistan and the State Committee on Physical Culture and Sports of Turkmenistan attended the Championships. The competitions between the women’s teams from Turkmenabat and Charjev, Danev, Sayat and Kerki etraps were held in a friendly atmosphere. The tournament, held within the framework of the Joint Programme, illustrated the concern of the President of Turkmenistan for improving the health of the people through promoting physical culture and sports in the country, eliminating bad habits and bringing up the younger generations to love sports and respect honest labour.

Path to Olympus

The 2nd Winter Children of Asia International Sports Games were held in Kuzbass, Kemerovo Oblast of the Russian Federation. This tournament offered an invaluable experience to our young athletes, who represent the future of the Turkmen national school of winter sports. The members of the Turkmenistan youth team performed in the Games and the events of the Path to Olympus education project. The Children of Asia International Committee and the Russian Olympic Committee developed the Path to Olympus education project. It is one of the projects of the sports festival which brought together children from different countries of the continent.

Fias International seminars for coaches and secretary referees in Serbia

The International Sambo Federation joinly with the National Sambo Federation of Serbia conducted the international seminars in the city of Novi Sad.
