Meeting of the State Security Council of Turkmenistan

On July 30, President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a regular meeting of the State Security Council, during which the work results of the military and law enforcement agencies for seven months of this year were discussed, and urgent objectives for the near future were identified. The agenda also included issues related to maintaining security and tranquility in our independent state, enhancing the material and technical resources of law enforcement agencies, and improving their performance. Opening the meeting, the President of Turkmenistan gave the floor to Secretary of the State Security Council, Minister of Defense B. Gundogdyev, who reported on the work done in January-July this year, the measures taken to strengthen the country’s defense capability, improve the professionalism of military personnel, and create proper conditions for the service and life of soldiers and officers. The specific topics of the report were the improvement of performance of all units of the National Army, the adoption of the best world experience in the military practice.

Towards the new heights of progress

The next, 14th volume of the book «Toward New Heights of Progress», prepared for printing by the Archival Fund of the President of Turkmenistan of the Main Archival Department under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, has been published. The publication contains the most important publications of 2020, which cover all aspects of the internal and external strategy of the state and give a visual representation of the cardinal transformations in the political system of society, the economy, the social and cultural spheres, and the scientific and educational field.

The President of Turkmenistan Conducts a Working Meeting Via the Digital System

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov conducted a working meeting via the digital system with the participation of the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers A. Yazmyradov and the hyakims of the velayats, at which they discussed the progress of seasonal field work in the country’s agricultural lands and issues related to the implementation of the tasks outlined in the National Rural Programme. First, the head of state gave the floor to the hyakim of the Ahal velayat Ya. Gurbanov, who reported on the measures taken these days to prepare for sowing in the lands vacated after the harvesting. Friendly relations strengthen

The state visit of our Esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the 14-15th of June paid to the Republic of Uzbekistan became the proof of more widening mutually beneficial, goodwill and equal in rights relations with world states, including the neighboring countries. During the talks, the issue on cultural-humanistic co-operation was touched upon. In connection with it the opening ceremony of the «Dashkent» Park, the construction of which is carried out in the centre of Ashgabat on the finishing stage, will be an important event. New trends of friendly co-operation

On the 29th of June of the year «Epoch of People with Arkadag» the Sixth Caspian Summit held under the Chairmanship of our Esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov became an important event in developing regional co-operation. This Forum becoming the continuation of the previous meetings held on the high level showed the readiness of the countries of the region for co-operation on making the Caspian Sea, the sea of friendship and consent on the basis of justice and confidence agreement. Ilham Aliyev, President of Azerbaijan Republic, Seyed Ebrahim Raisi, President of Islamic Republic of Iran, Kasym Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Vladimir Putin, President of Russian Federation came to participate in the Sixth Caspian Summit. Making speech at the Summit the Head of our state underlined the importance of securing the reliable and long-term security in the Caspian Region and at the same time, it is the main condition of success of five-lateral relations. In connection with it, our Esteemed President underlined in his speech that jointly fighting against terrorism, the illegal circulation of narcotic means, organized criminality and other illegal acts are among the important tasks.

New stage in international co-operation

On May 12-13, for the first time in the region, the Inter-Parliamentary Forum and the Women's Dialogue were held in the capital in the form of «Central Asia-Russian Federation» on the initiative of our Hero Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. This important event opened a new page in parliamentary diplomacy and marked the achievements of our country in accordance with the legal of Neutrality and the «Concept of Neutral Turkmenistan's Foreign Policy for 2017-2023». At present, the Parliament of the National Council of Turkmenistan maintains friendly relations with parliaments of 45 countries of the world. By the way, the establishment of a new legislative body in the state structure of Turkmenistan, the People's Council (Halk Maslahaty) of the National Council (Milli Gengesh) of Turkmenistan, that is, the two-chamber legislature, takes the parliamentary relations to a qualitatively new level. As is known, the meeting of the National Council of Turkmenistan was adopted in 2014 as a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe and in 2017 as a member of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
