The Philippines are the actual leaders of the medal chart, with 12 podium presences (including seven victories). The latest success for the Asian nation came in the women’s 64kg, where Gulalek Kakamyradova got a bronze in the snatch, lifting 88kg. With three days to go, Turkmen officials hope that more top-3 finishes will come.

Asia and Oceania SAMBO Championships in Astana made history

300th birth anniversary of poet Magtymguly Fraghi to be included in UNESCO’s list of international commemorations in 2024-2025

Following the discussion, the Executive Board considered and recommended to the General Conference that UNESCO be associated with the celebration of 46 anniversaries. These include the proposal on the 300th birth anniversary of the poet Magtymguly Fraghi submitted by Turkmenistan with the support of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Ukraine

Kazakhstan to host world masters sambo championships

Bright Victory of Turkmen Tennis Players

The Central Asian team tennis championships taking place on the courts of the Olympic Complex, in which boys and girls under 12 years old from Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are taking part, are coming to an end in Ashgabat. For the second time, Turkmenistan hosts the regional tournament held under the auspices of the International (ITF) and Asian (ATF) Tennis Federations. And the day before, Turkmen tennis players took a serious step towards winning silver medals, defeating the team of Uzbekistan for the first time in history.
